Ohiopyle State Park Bike Trail

The park offers several biking trails that cater to various skill levels and preferences. The Youghiogheny River Trail, a portion of the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) is one of the most popular. is a multi-use trail that stretches for approximately 150 miles from Pittsburgh, PA, to Cumberland, MD. Part of this trail passes through Ohio Pyle State Park, offering cyclists a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Youghiogheny River and the surrounding forested hills. The trail is relatively flat, making it suitable for cyclists of all experience levels.

In compliance with Pennsylvania state law, any bicyclist under the age of 12 must wear an approved helmet while riding. State park roads and specific trails designated for biking or mountain biking are open to both traditional bicycles (bikes) and electric bicycles (e-bikes). However, it’s important to note that biking is strictly prohibited on designated hiking-only trails and any roads or trails marked as off-limits for bikes. To ensure safety, all riders must adhere to responsible speeds at all times, following both recommended and posted speed limits.

Ohiopyle State Park Hours

The park is open every day of the year from sunrise to sunset. Day-use areas close at dusk. While the park office and visitor center hours are:

January 1 to April 15 – Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
April 16 to October 31 – Daily, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
November 1 to December 31 – Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

The park office is closed on all state holidays.
