The Carriage House – Captivating Views of Farmland

The Carriage House constitutes the upper level of our cedar stables, which was transformed into an apartment several years ago. Recently renovated this spring, it has undergone a complete transformation and been expertly adorned to create a comfortable and luxurious haven, featuring breathtaking views. Although the stables no longer serve as animal quarters, a handful of cattle and sheep still roam the pasture, providing a delightful spectacle. The apartment’s rear is adorned with a series of windows that not only frame the most splendid vistas of the encompassing farmland but also offer an unforgettable vantage point for observing sunrise moments.

The Space

The bedroom welcomes you with a king-sized bed adorned with sumptuous bedding, hand-painted wallpaper, and a snug sitting area perfect for enjoying a captivating book.

In the living room, a splendid navy sofa (which can also convert into a sleeper sofa), wooden toys for the kids, and a Samsung Frame TV take center stage. For those unacquainted with the concept, the artwork hanging between the two elegant gold sconces is, in fact, a smart TV. With excellent WiFi, you can easily access your favorite streaming services.

The apartment boasts an open floor plan, ensuring a seamless flow between the living room, dining area, and kitchen. The dining table accommodates four with ease, while the bar area features comfortable stools for two. The kitchen is well-equipped with amenities such as an electric tea kettle, blender, an array of cookware and flatware, and more. To cater to different coffee preferences, we’ve included a Keurig duo coffee maker, allowing you to brew either grounds or K-cups during your stay. A personal favorite touch is the bar counter along the far wall, fully stocked with all the tools and glassware needed to concoct your preferred beverages. During the summer months, we recommend a refreshing mojito crafted with freshly picked mint from the garden (more on that in a moment).

Moving on to the bathroom, you’ll find a compact tile shower, plush linens, and aromatic soap, shampoo, and conditioner.

The wall of windows in both the main living area and bedroom presents an awe-inspiring panorama of the surrounding acres of farmland. Depending on the day, you might observe cows leisurely grazing in the fields near the patio, witness the farmer working with his horses and plow, and be greeted by the breathtaking sunrise each morning. A patio area has been added at the back of the carriage house, bordering the fields. Here, you’ll discover comfortable outdoor furnishings, a charming bistro table with chairs, a propane fire pit, and a grill for those evenings when you’re in the mood for grilling steaks or burgers (we suggest visiting Stoltzfus Meats, the local butcher, for quality dinner options). Privacy bushes encircle the area, granting you seclusion, interrupted only by the nearby grazing cows. The French doors of the apartment offer a view of our garden, and during the summer, you’re welcome to select fresh herbs or vegetables to enhance your meals (further instructions can be found in the welcome booklet upon arrival).

Adjacent to the carriage house lies the pasture, which is home to our resident longhorns, horse, and sheep.

Guest Access

Everything you see in the pictures is at your disposal during your stay. Entry is facilitated through a key or lockbox.

It was such an AMAZING experience to stay here! The views were breathtaking and the inside was gorgeous. Everything was perfectly done to make sure we felt peaceful during our stay. The location was perfect, we drove into many nearby towns and cities and enjoyed them all. We also loved the outside patio, string lights, gas fireplace, and garden. The animals were a plus too! :) It would be a dream to come back and stay here again.

One of the best locations we've spent the weekend at. The apartment itself is beautiful, the view is to die for, and there's something about waking up in the morning to the sound of a gentle "moo" just outside the window that makes one feel at peace. Best of all, this place had one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. We're definitely staying here again next time we're in town.
