The Space

A testament to the power of local ownership! Our roots are deeply embedded in this community, spanning over 25 years. For 22 of those years, Laurel Mountain Park was our full-time residence, and even now, we remain close by. We hold a vested interest in your experience, the well-being of our splendid community, and the maintenance of this cherished house. As hands-on, helpful local owners, we are dedicated to creating a memorable stay for you.

Once an artist’s home and studio, Beechwood Cottage embodies an eclectic, artistic, and inviting ambiance that beckons you to a realm of relaxation and wonder. As you step into Beechwood Cottage, you’ll be embraced by a creative atmosphere that rejuvenates your spirit and restores your connection to art and the natural world. Our reviews testify to our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness. The cottage boasts a HEPA air filtration system, while the air ducts are equipped with a UV HVAC Air purifying lamp system—akin to those employed in hospitals and restaurants.

Our cottage has always been meticulously cleaned after each guest’s departure. We’ve implemented a few vital enhancements to our existing cleaning regimen. In an effort to minimize shared items between guests, certain amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash have been removed for the indefinite future. However, liquid hand soap, dish soap, and dishwasher detergent remain available.

This house is a genuine gem of Ligonier, reflecting our extensive experience as full-time residents of Laurel Mountain. Over 12 years, we’ve hosted short-term visitors, sharing our cottage and beloved community with individuals worldwide. Those seeking an extraordinary departure from the mundane find in our cottage an elegant, unexpected, welcoming, and inviting haven. It’s an art-infused escape, brimming with love and uniqueness at every turn.

Upon entry, you’ll be captivated by the hand-painted intricacies of the spacious enclosed front porch. Crossing the sliding interior door, you’ll be greeted by unexpected, soaring beamed ceilings in the great room. During fall and winter (from October 1 to April 1), enjoy the warmth of the home’s two working fireplaces. The first, a grand floor-to-ceiling wood-burning masterpiece made of hand-cut sandstone, provides the perfect ambiance (a box of seasoned firewood is provided). The second, found in the cozy den, offers the convenience of gas firelogs.

As you explore, you’ll uncover a fully equipped kitchen, serene spaces for quiet contemplation, a rustic farm table poised to host new family memories, and an inviting outdoor deck (furnished from May 1 to October 31). The private fenced yard and a delightful blend of cottage antiques, original art, and unique style further enhance your experience.

Beechwood Cottage’s three bedrooms offer immersive views of nature’s beauty throughout the changing seasons. Be sure to admire the intricate hand-painted details on walls and floors, as well as the faux-painted finish of the master bathroom vanity—an enchanting transformation from plain wood to curly, burled maple.

Our own global travels have inspired Beechwood Cottage’s intricate details. From Mexican kitchen tiles sourced from Tijuana to decoupage window cornices and seashell-adorned frameworks collected from beaches worldwide, these captivating elements ignite your creativity and sense of wonder.

The interior of Beechwood Cottage is a product of curated experiences, not a big-box store. It’s a living testament to our passion for craftsmanship, original art, and our journeys that have spanned the corners of the globe. Our travels have broadened our horizons, deepened our understanding, and ultimately led us back to the embrace of this picturesque spot in the historic Ligonier valley.

Certain aspects of the house are influenced by the seasons to ensure a well-rounded experience. Please note that indoor fireplaces are operational from October 1 to April 1. Deck furniture and the gas grill are available from early May (weather permitting) until October. Furthermore, central air conditioning for cooling is unavailable during the heating season, which aligns with the fireplace season.

Guest Access

You have full access to the entire house and all outdoor spaces for your enjoyment.

Other Things to Note

We’ve received several inquiries regarding our water source. Rest assured, the cottage is supplied with municipal water, so there’s no reliance on well water (a bonus!). We understand that many are curious about pets. As fellow animal lovers with a cat of our own, we cherish our furry friends.

However, please note that pets are not allowed in our guest house. Our consideration stems from our hand-painted floors in much of the house; we wish to preserve them from potential scratches or marks caused by animal paws. Furthermore, we are committed to ensuring a pet-free environment for guests with allergies.

Should you have any further queries about Beechwood Cottage Ligonier, if they aren’t covered here, kindly send us an Airbnb message, and we’ll be more than happy to assist you.

Quaint / Peaceful home surrounded by the beauty of the Pennsylvania countryside (golfing / hiking / fishing / historical sites nearby)

What a unique place to stay! Cool decorations. We were very comfortable and it felt peaceful to be away from it all, but still close enough to the cute town of Ligonier for shopping and restaurants. Hosts were kind and communicative. No problems. Would recommend highly.
