Serene Riverfront Home in Everett – Discover Kayaking, Cozy Fires, and Natural Beauty

Welcome to Camp Shoop, a charming riverfront residence that provides guests with a delightful blend of outdoor experiences and the comforts of home. Originally built in 2009 and expanded and updated in 2019, this unique property offers a remarkable transformation from its original two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath design to its current three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath configuration. The exterior has been thoughtfully designed for low maintenance, while the interior exudes a cozy cabin-like ambiance.

The Space

The interior of Camp Shoop boasts knotty pine walls, custom cabinetry, bespoke furniture, and granite countertops throughout. The open floor plan seamlessly merges the kitchen, dining area, and family room, enhanced by a vaulted ceiling and skylights. Adjacent to the kitchen and dining area, a sunroom treats guests to a picturesque view of the river.

The kitchen is fully equipped with custom cabinets, a spacious work island, a generous dining table, and modern black stainless steel appliances. Ample dinnerware, cookware, small appliances, kitchen tools, and utensils are at your disposal. In the family room, comfortable reclining furniture and a 55″ flat-screen TV await your relaxation.

The Master Bedroom features a king-size log bed, a chest of drawers, a 42″ flat-screen TV, and sliding glass doors that lead to a private deck with seating for two. Access the spacious Bathroom Suite through sliding double barn doors, where you’ll find a luxurious granite vanity with double sinks, an oversized soaking tub with expansive windows offering woodland views, a 4′ x 5′ tile walk-in shower, and a private water closet.

The Guest Bedroom Suite offers a Queen Size Bed and an adjacent Full Bathroom. Aptly named the ‘Stump Room,’ this suite showcases authentic, solid red pine tree stumps transformed into bedside tables, courtesy of a talented young Amish craftsman who also contributed to the property’s furniture and cabinetry. The vessel sink in the Guest Bath rests atop another tree stump. While the Guest Suite may be slightly smaller than anticipated, it remains comfortable and well-lit, featuring large windows, a sloped ceiling, a full bath, and a spacious closet.

The Bunk Room is equipped with sturdy Full-Over-Full Log Bunks, a generous double dresser with a mirror, a spacious closet, and its own private half bath.

Outside, guests can savor tranquil river views from the expansive front deck. A capacious covered pavilion, complete with a sound system, provides an additional space to enjoy the outdoors. Kayaks, firewood, lawn chairs, and river chairs are thoughtfully provided for your pleasure.

Guests often comment on the distinct feeling that Camp Shoop is not merely a typical rental property; it is a cherished second home for the owners. They personally manage and maintain it, ensuring its continuous improvement for the mutual enjoyment of guests and themselves.

Guests enjoy exclusive access to the entire property, with the exception of two locked owners’ closets in the home and the locked basement below. The well-equipped kitchen, elevated deck, and spacious pavilion with a sound system, kayaks, and firewood are all at your disposal.

Other Things to Note

Camp Shoop is personally managed and maintained by the owners, and there is no involvement of a property management service. Guests communicate directly with the owners, ensuring a personal touch and a seamless experience.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions not addressed here. The owners are dedicated to ensuring your satisfaction and are happy to provide any information you may need to determine if Camp Shoop and the surrounding area are a suitable match for your stay.

As proud caretakers of their home, the owners take great pride in its upkeep, cleanliness, and overall condition. While they are delighted to share it with guests and maintain a friendly atmosphere, they do have certain limitations and rules:

  1. Guests must sign a rental agreement and provide basic contact information.
  2. Smoking of any substance, including vaping, is strictly prohibited within the premises.
  3. With prior approval and payment of a nominal pet fee, responsible owners may bring a maximum of two well-behaved, non-aggressive adult dogs.
  4. Camp Shoop is not available for hosting house parties, spring break gatherings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, or similar events that could disturb neighbors and potentially damage the property.
  5. The property is not equipped for large gatherings like weddings or reunions.
  6. The condition of the river, suitable for activities like fishing, kayaking, and wading, depends on the weather and precipitation levels.
  7. High-speed internet services like Xfinity and FIOS are not available in the rural location. Instead, the property utilizes a TMobile Hotspot for web browsing and Netflix. Connectivity may slow down when multiple users stream video simultaneously, so guests should consider using their cell phone data plans.
  8. The property has a Ring doorbell security camera, recording outdoor footage for liability and security purposes, with no sharing of the video. There are no indoor cameras.
  9. The owners advise guests that Camp Shoop is located along the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River, and while flooding is rare, it can occur due to its location in a flood plain.
  10. Pharr Road, the private dirt/gravel lane leading to the property, does not receive maintenance from the State or Township. Guests may encounter mud, so 4WD or AWD vehicles are recommended for winter stays.
  11. In addition to the limited high-speed internet options, the owners require guests to sign a short-term rental agreement.

Camp Shoop invites guests to enjoy the serene beauty of its riverside location while respecting these guidelines that help maintain the property’s integrity and the comfort of all visitors.

We especially loved having the table and chairs to sit in the creek. We enjoyed playing the lawn games while sitting outside under the pavilion. Would love to make a return visit for sure!

Camp Shoop is a dream that came to life. This is the perfect place to come and get away from lifes hustle and bustle. The amenities are great. Games, kitchen full of accessories, sufficient linens, and thoughtful touches for extra comfort. The cabin is very comfortable and cozy. The photos of this place were what hooked me but actually going there was another level. The location on the river is so serene. This is definitely a great spot to bring your family.
