Patton Paradise – Charming, Cozy Farmhouse Getaway on an Idyllic Family Farm

The farmhouse, nestled on the family farm, has undergone recent renovations that seamlessly blend modern comforts with its original rustic charm. Situated amidst picturesque pastures, a serene pond, flourishing apple trees, and rolling hills, the location offers a tranquil retreat. Just a short drive away lies Prince Gallitzin State Park. Guests can bask in the beauty of the surroundings from the farmhouse’s wrap-around porch. While guests enjoy full privacy, the hosts live nearby, ensuring a helpful presence when needed.

The Space

The farmhouse provides off-street parking for up to three vehicles, and a fully equipped kitchen boasts a washer and dryer, along with essential cookware, pots, pans, and even baking supplies. Coffee and tea are readily available, as are basic condiments. Two dining areas offer versatility: a kitchen island with four bar stools and a spacious handcrafted ash dining table in the dining room, accommodating eight diners.

Additionally, there are two cozy sitting rooms on the first floor, ideal for reading, watching movies from the provided DVD selection, or engaging in board games, either from the selection available or those brought by guests. A canoe is at guests’ disposal for leisurely paddling on the adjacent lake within the state park. House rules and a guestbook containing recommended dining and activity options are thoughtfully provided.

Upstairs, four bedrooms are furnished with seating and storage options, and an air mattress accommodates an eighth guest. While there’s one main bathroom, a “Pittsburgh potty” in the basement offers an alternative, albeit less luxurious, option for guests. The porch is furnished with comfortable patio furniture and frequented by friendly barn cats who enjoy guest attention.

Guest Access

Guests are granted access to the entire farmhouse, excluding the attic space. The inviting lawn area and a well-maintained path around the farm fields provide opportunities for outdoor exploration and nature walks. Entry into the barn and equipment sheds requires host supervision, and guests are advised not to ascend the three hunting stands/towers located within or alongside the hay fields without host presence.

This a lovely old farmhouse with a new kitchen and plenty of room to sleep and spend time with traveling companions. We came to the area to get married, and the house and amenities were exactly what we needed. The hosts were responsive and kind and helped us with any issues that arose.

Absolutely beautiful location! Impeccably maintained and so welcoming. Well stocked with everything you need and even a welcome gift tray of goodies. Loved all the mowed paths for runs and walks along the woods. Hosts were so friendly and even the cows made you feel welcomed. Great for families, friends and couples. The porch in the evening was our favorite spot. Watching the cows grazing, wine at sunset and catching fireflies.

One of the best airbnbs we have ever stayed at!!! The house is beautiful and the views from the front porch are spectacular. We found everything was really well stocked from linens and towels to a kitchen stocked with spices, coffee and coffee maker, toaster and even a blender. This is a place to retreat and refresh with amazing views and the beauty of nature.
