Unwind and embrace nature’s embrace at Hidden River Lodge. Sit back with a coffee on the spacious deck, absorbing captivating views of the Little Schuylkill River, while being nestled at the base of Hawk Mountain, renowned for raptor sightings. Nearby, the Appalachian Trail beckons with splendid hikes and panoramic views of pristine Pennsylvania landscapes.
The Space
Tucked between Hawk Mountain and the Little Schuylkill River, Hidden River Lodge offers tranquil seclusion amidst surrounding woods. The airy living and dining areas boast vaulted ceilings and seamlessly connect with the kitchen. A generous dining table accommodates 10, and sliding doors lead to a deck featuring a grill and stunning forest and river panoramas.
The master bedroom, adjacent to the kitchen, boasts a queen bed and en-suite bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. A bunk room down the hall, ideal for children with toys and games, accommodates four twin beds and a full bed. An additional full bathroom adjoins the bunk room.
Through French doors off the living room lies the “stone room” with vaulted ceilings, a plush sectional (convertible to a bed), a TV, and an inviting space for relaxation or bonding.
The lower level serves as a game room, opening to a patio and providing access to the front yard. Steps away is the river, offering fishing, kayaking, and swimming opportunities. A cozy downstairs bedroom features a queen bed, workspace, full bathroom, and spacious walk-in closet.
Guest Access
Hawk Mountain, a neighboring bird sanctuary, offers maintained trails and birdwatching. Additional trails, including the renowned Appalachian Trail, are accessible from the main road.
The house is equipped with WiFi. Guests have full access, except for the owner’s master bedroom closet, replaced by a large armoire and chest. The carport is available for use, but the garage isn’t accessible.
Although there are two fireplaces and a coal stove, their use is currently restricted. Private access to the Little Schuylkill River is granted through wrought iron steps. Two fire pits are available, one in the courtyard and another in the front yard, extinguished by 10:00 pm as per township rules.
The grill is at guests’ disposal and should be cleaned after each use.
