Hersheypark in Dauphin County

Hershey Park

Hersheypark, located in the heart of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, is a world-class amusement park that offers much more than just a sugar rush. Named after the famous Milton S. Hershey, the founder of The Hershey Chocolate Company, the park has been a beloved destination for families and thrill-seekers since its inception in 1906. Over the years, the park has grown from a modest leisure park for Hershey’s employees into a major amusement destination featuring over 70 exciting rides, a zoo, and a water park, all amid a theme inspired by the sweetest treat on earth – chocolate.

Hersheypark’s Sweet Beginnings

Hersheypark was originally established as a leisure park for the employees of the Hershey Chocolate Factory. However, with Milton Hershey’s vision of creating a pleasant environment for his workers and the local community, it quickly expanded and began to draw visitors from far and wide. Over the years, the park has evolved dramatically from its simple beginnings, becoming a massive, year-round destination with rides, attractions, and shows that cater to all ages and tastes.

ZooAmerica

Included with the admission to Hersheypark, ZooAmerica is a year-round, 11-acre, walk-through zoo home to more than 200 animals from five regions of North America. This provides a wonderful opportunity for children and adults alike to observe and learn about various wildlife in a carefully replicated natural habitat. The zoo also hosts various educational programs and interactive experiences, allowing guests to get an up-close view of the animals.

The Boardwalk

The Boardwalk opened in 2007 and is a massive water park within Hersheypark. Open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, the water park features a range of water-based attractions, including a lazy river, a wave pool, several waterslides, and play areas for younger children. All these attractions provide a refreshing break from the summer heat.
